Set your GPS for Canaan CT. this fall, nice place to see foliage. Northwester CT. has always been my favorite part of the state. Canaan is one of the great little towns out here. Lots of rolling hills and fishing spots.

Great looking diner gotta stop for the meatloaf sometime.

Memorial to town vets.

They like their trains in this town.

Zipping through Sharon CT. Stopped here for a look.

Lake Winnipesauke NH. 8-23-8 to 8-25-8

Heading up to the lake I had thought we would be getting away from the influences of city life. Pulling in to get some provisions for the next few days Amanda spotted this store off in the distance. Get moe goods at hoe goods was the phrase of the weekend.
Theres a day going on and we were part of it. Campfires, boating and a night time bristle race were all on the menu.

Leaving boat launch we floated by these earth movers. Reminded me of book from my youth.http://www.houghtonmifflinbooks.com/features/mike_mulligan/

Early morning fishing with the G man. Pontoon boat dubbed Slow Ride was the perfect place to drink morning coffee and drag a few lines. What a great way to start the day.

Spotted this guy flying around with a couple of ultralights through out the day. Place is full of clean deep green water.

Theres a cove where this little cottage is tucked in. http://www.boston.com/partners/worldnow/necn.html?catID=83468&clipid=1146312&autoStart=true&mute=false&continuous=true After a swim lunch and little more fishing we called it a day and headed in.

Lake Winnipesauke NH. 8-23-8 to 8-25-8

This team made short order of getting their boat out, Husband and Wife teams rule.

Lake Winnipesauke NH. 8-23-8 to 8-25-8

Getting late we set off back home, not far into trip ran into the forth lowest plate issued in the state. Its always nice to be home but cant wait to come back to the lake. Good people and simple pleasures assure me this is still a great country.

8-21-8 Middlebury Ct. bike path

Had a early morning run to Danbury CT. today, brought bike hoping to fit in ride somewhere. Middlebury Greenway turned out to be just the ticket. http://www.geocities.com/haalck@snet.net/middlebury_greenway_letterbox.htm Nice paved bike path, friendly people whole route. 15 out of 16 people replied to my good morning or hello.Been on better bike paths but none friendlier.

Lots of memorial bench's and history to read about on this trail.

Trail brings you to this tunnel with locked cage. Not sure what this is but it belongs to someone.

Lots of low gear riding on east to west route. plenty of places to take breaks.

Great bus stops in this town, put a front door on and I'm moving in.

Not sure whats sealed below this concrete but somebody took the time to mark it.

Quassy amusement park at end of trail. rail trail book recommends starting this from the eastern end, glad that was in there lots of low gear riding to this point.Lots of down hill on return trip.
