9-25-8

Seeing alot of road kill lately I thought, count the victims. opossum's 2, squirrel's 13, raccoon's 3, skunks 4, birds 1. I had to stop after hundred miles it just got to morbid.

Driving around western CT. in Woodbury.

Driving in New Milford CT. turned head to see refurbished bridge and park to go with it. Ive been in this area on RT7 for a while and haven't seen this yet. This park is minutes from Rt7 and definitely deserves fishing, walking, gawking. http://www.past-inc.org/bibco/lovr.htm

Park offers 4.4 mile of trails. Also for some reason this area has had its share of fires. Along hike You will find ruins. Silex Factory,Indian Spring House, and Castle,Tea House are listed on trail map at entrance.

Informative plaques on hand to give history of area.

"I don't like the tree dad".

This place is begging for some Country Time Lemonade. Really nice structure has you looking for donation box.

With a fresh coat of paint this girl looks pretty good.

Leaving the old bridge and headed under the newer bridge trail led more history.

Factory of the area that has been reduced to its foundation.

Place has me wanting to come back with metal detector, shovel, and lunch.

No shortage of spooky trees in these woods.

Nice place to spend some time will have to come back.

In Danbury CT. Who's being morbid now?

9-24-8 Mt. Tom

Leaving work with daylight will soon be a luxury. Taking a hike seemed like the thing to do.
Thought I was doing hike alone but ran into mike down the road. We parked at the overflow lot to Log cabin .http://www.logcabin-delaney.com/content/view/25/38/ That's where were going got to get moving.

Mike brought this guy along for the walk, Odie. Wish Amanda was here shes been wanting to do this hike again and she loves puggles.

Getting above the treeline is always a good time.

Getting to the top mike grabbed a seat Odie found his inner mountain goat.

Doesn't take to long to get here and the payoff is good. Nice view of the valley will have to check back as the trees change.

Little guy had no fear stepping to the edge. Seemed to say What? as he walked by.

We could have stayed here all day, but time to head down.

That's where I'm going, got to get moving.

Trash day came and went, the can lives another day.

Sent out to western Connecticut today.

Had a delivery on this street, nice park in a residential neighborhood. http://www.ct.gov/dEP/cwp/view.asp?A=2716&Q=325222#history

This place is awesome coined "Connecticut's Valley Forge" had to stop. http://www.ct.gov/dEP/cwp/view.asp?A=2716&Q=325250#facilities

Tall memorial on a rocky slope has you thinking of ducking musket fire.

I could live here just need electricity, wood stove, and a cable connection.

Anna Hyatt Huntington finished this at the ripe old age of 93. Was told at visitor center she was married to namesake of previously visited park. This lady has art all over the world and town has displays all over it.

Entering the Visitor center I was told that the cannons are outside this is a rifle due to the rifled barrel, also its from the Civil War. Nice spot to visit worth a drive from anywhere. Getting late still have deliveries had to put off museum till next time. Don't forget to sign the book before leaving visitor center.
