9-20-12 Batalha Portugal

On our way down the road it was time for lunch. Our cabby spotted a bunch of truckers at this place one day and has been coming here ever since. Four of us had bread salad soup our meal with wine dessert and coffee for $34.00.

Old Panam billboard on the hillside.

Cabby has another monastery to show us before heading home.

In 1385 King Joao built this for the Virgin Mary after winning Portugal's independence from Spain.

More tombs here and probably in every old church in Europe.

Still cant believe how this place was made.

Architect of the building buried just as you walk in the front door.
