Monson class of 2011 Graduation

Last weeks Tornado interrupted Monsons class of 2011 graduation. Today with a change of venue to Granite Valley Middle School. A small delay for a suspicious device and we were set for the long awaited moment. Whoever set the change of location couldn't have picked a better spot. After a hot few days we were all set up in the shade.

You 2011 Monson class.

Governor Deval Patrick helicoptered in to address the crowd.

Senior Christopher McCray followed the Governor and for my money it was a far better speech. Between the kids in town volunteering and Chris's essay, Americas future looks a little bit brighter. Link below is that essay.

Our buddy Mike is getting married and a canoe trip was his sendoff. Two day canoe trip had our vessels loaded with tents food and beverages.

Tom S. was the first of three to take the leap, repeating it a few more times.

Tom B. was next to relive his youth.

6-4-11 to 6-5-11 Canoe trip

Mike S. took some time to get over the 24 foot leap, but I didn't even climb the ladder.

6-4-11 to 6-5-11 Canoe trip.

Pulling into camp we threw it together quick lit the fire and made it home for the night.

Found some flat rocks and put the chicken on for two hour heat up. Nice place for a campsite. We paddled ten miles with another ten tomorrow.

Campsite has wood but we gathered some along the way for a ripper.
